< Back to Our People Page Michelle Santiago Vice President of Communications Excelencia in Education Email: msantiago@EdExcelencia.org Current Position: Michelle Santiago serves as the Vice President of Communications of Excelencia in Education, developing and implementing the organization’s strategic communications plan to support, strengthen, and build awareness of Excelencia in Education’s mission and work. She has managed Excelencia ’s digital communications since 2009, including the website, presence in social media platforms, as well as online campaigns. Past Experiences: For over 25 years, Michelle has worked to advance educational success of Latino students and all students as a leadership development associate for students and parents, high school teacher, university faculty member, and community health educator. Michelle received her M.Ed. from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Communications from James Madison University. Why are you bringing your talent to Excelencia ? Michelle first began working at Excelencia in Education because of her desire to combine her communications experience with her interest in supporting the educational success of Latino and all students. How would you describe working at Excelencia ? For the time I have been working at Excelencia , every day has been an opportunity to learn and grow both professionally and personally. I feel very fortunate to work in an environment where my thoughts and ideas can be shared and incorporated into organizational efforts. I have appreciated being able to work with inspiring leadership, represent Excelencia in efforts with others committed to cause, and to give back to the Latino community through supporting Excelencia 's mission.

< Back to Our People Page Marie Therese Dominguez Commissioner New York State Department of Transportation Marie Therese Dominguez is the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Transportation. In her previous position as Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at the YWCA USA, Marie Therese worked to establish the strategic vision and manage operations of YWCA USA and its network of 210 local associations serving 2.2 million women and girls in 46 states and the District of Columbia. She has held leadership positions in addressing transportation, water and energy infrastructure, safety, and logistics and has held senior leadership positions at the U.S. Department of Transportation, Defense, the United States Postal Service and the White House. Ms. Dominguez serves as a Member of the Virginia Aviation Board and, until recently, was an adjunct professor at Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy.

< Back to Our People Page Shirley M. Collado President & Chief Executive Officer College Track Shirley M. Collado is the President & Chief Executive Officer of College Track. She is nationally known for designing and implementing innovative approaches in higher education that expand student access and success. Prior to assuming the leadership role at College Track, she served as the ninth president of Ithaca College and was named President Emerita at the conclusion of her tenure. She was the first Dominican-American in the U.S. to serve as president of a four-year institution. During her career, she has served as Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer at Rutgers University-Newark; Dean of the college and Vice President for Student Affairs at Middlebury; and as Executive Vice President of The Posse Foundation.
