2021 Examples of Excelencia Finalists For 16 years, Excelencia in Education has identified and promoted evidence-based practices where Latino students thrive. Even in these challenging times, it is a powerful reminder that there are many in our community working diligently to intentionally serve our students. This year, Excelencia in Education received 145 program submissions for Examples of Excelencia from 23 states and Puerto Rico. Of these submissions, 21 programs were selected as finalists for Examples of Excelencia. These programs provide intentional, culturally relevant, high-impact practices tailored to Latino students and their communities. Since 2005, Excelencia in Education has received over 1,800 program submissions; recognized over 350 programs for their efforts accelerating Latino student success and awarded over $2 million to programs making a difference for Latino students. The 2021 finalists for Examples of Excelencia join a national community of practitioners committed to Latino student success.
