2020 Examples of Excelencia Finalists Amid challenging times for higher education, this year’s finalists for Examples of Excelencia provide vanguard leadership in replicable strategies toward equity for Latinos. This year, Excelencia in Education received 112 program submissions for Examples of Excelencia from 24 states, DC, and Puerto Rico. Of these submissions, 20 programs were selected as finalists for Examples of Excelencia. These programs provide intentional, culturally relevant, high-impact practices tailored to Latino students and their communities. Since 2005, Excelencia in Education has received over 1,000 program submissions; recognized over 300 programs for their efforts accelerating Latino student success and awarded $2 million to programs making a difference for Latino students.
