Since 2005, Excelencia in Education has led the only national effort to recognize evidence-based practices that accelerate Latino student success in higher education through Examples of Excelencia. Through this process, Excelencia recognizes programs that are intentionally serving Latino students across four levels: Associate, Baccalaureate, Graduate, and Community-Based Organizations. For 17 years, Excelencia has recognized over 350 programs across the country that work for Latino students. This year’s compendium includes 4 Examples of Excelencia, 16 Finalists, and 10 Programs to Watch. Each program in this compendium is making a positive difference in the lives of Latino students. This year’s recognized programs are empowering Latino students through mentorship, dual language programming, holistic support structures, bridging transfer pathways and increasing access to and through graduate programs all while building vibrant comunidades where Latino students feel a true sense of belonging.
